New Day Beautification Project

  • A New Day 2820 Ridgecrest Drive Southeast Albuquerque, NM, 87108 United States (map)

Come make the campus of New Day look as beautiful on the outside as it does on the inside! This volunteer opportunity requires light to moderate lifting, bending, and sweating. It involves picking up trash and weeds outdoors and then throwing full bags of debris into bins. There will be an indoor area to cool off and take breaks, including bathroom and snack/water breaks. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather and wear close-toed shoes. We will provide snacks, water, gardening gloves, and sunscreen to everyone who participates. Even though the Beautification Project is a lot of hard work, it’s very rewarding and can also be fun. Plus, since it’s over by 10am (or sometimes sooner) you can get back to your Saturday quickly to enjoy your weekend! Children are welcome at this event.

New Day Youth and Family Services provides critical emergency shelter, transitional housing and life skills training for youth and young adults who are homeless and without parental/adult support in their lives. New Day was founded in 1976 as Albuquerque's first shelter for runaway and homeless youth.
