Albuquerque Involved exists to bring people together in service of our community. Since our founding, our members have supported local nonprofits through monthly charitable giving and hands-on volunteer opportunities.
As we've grown, we've reflected on how we can create the greatest impact with the generosity of our members. After thoughtful consideration, we've chosen to evolve into a service-first organization.
Our New Model: Service-First
Rather than operating a formal monthly grant program with member voting, Albuquerque Involved will direct member contributions toward supporting volunteer projects and service initiatives throughout the year.
This allows us to partner with more nonprofits, respond to community needs more quickly, and provide the resources that make meaningful service possible.
Your donations may be used to:
Purchase food for meal service projects, such as preparing meals for families staying at Ronald McDonald House.
Purchase supplies for tree planting and environmental stewardship initiatives.
Provide materials for neighborhood beautification and community improvement projects.
Support project-specific needs identified by our nonprofit partners.
Recognize volunteers and celebrate the nonprofit organizations that make our work possible.
Our Commitment
While our approach is evolving, our commitment remains unchanged.
Every dollar donated by our members continues to support charitable work.
Member contributions are not used for Board operations or administrative overhead. Those expenses—including Zoom, software subscriptions, and similar operational costs—continue to be covered through the generous support of Weems Law.
Our Board will steward member contributions by working closely with our nonprofit partners to identify opportunities where our volunteers and financial resources can make the greatest impact. We'll continue sharing updates throughout the year so our members can see the difference their generosity is making.
Why We're Making This Change
This evolution allows Albuquerque Involved to:
Support more nonprofit organizations throughout the year.
Respond quickly to emerging community needs.
Offer more frequent and more diverse volunteer opportunities.
Organize projects ranging from large community events to smaller service opportunities.
Focus our financial resources where they can best support hands-on service.
Rather than funding one organization through a monthly grant cycle, we'll be helping many organizations through direct service and the resources needed to make that service successful.
Transitioning to Our New Model
As part of this transition, all existing recurring monthly donations will be canceled.
We're taking this step so every member has the opportunity to intentionally choose to support Albuquerque Involved under our new service-first model.
