Why are we changing?
As we've grown, we've realized we can create greater impact by focusing our resources on service projects that directly benefit local nonprofits. This model allows us to support more organizations throughout the year while creating more opportunities for our members to volunteer.
Will we still support local nonprofits?
Absolutely.
Supporting local nonprofits remains our mission. The difference is how we support them.
Instead of awarding monthly grants, we'll partner with nonprofits through hands-on service and by purchasing the supplies and resources needed to make those service projects successful.
Why are we discontinuing the monthly grant program?
The grant program served Albuquerque well for many years, and we're proud of what we accomplished together.
Our new model gives us greater flexibility to:
Support more nonprofit organizations each year.
Respond more quickly to community needs.
Create more volunteer opportunities.
Put both our members and our financial resources to work together.
We believe this approach allows every donated dollar to create even greater community impact.
-
Your donation may help purchase:
Food for meal service projects.
Service supplies and project materials.
Tree planting and environmental stewardship resources.
Community improvement materials.
Other project-specific needs identified in partnership with local nonprofits.
Volunteer recognition and appreciation.
Every dollar continues to support charitable work.
-
No.
Member donations are not used for Board operations or administrative costs.
Expenses such as Zoom, software subscriptions, and other organizational tools continue to be covered through the generous support of Weems Law.
-
The Albuquerque Involved Board works directly with our nonprofit partners to identify opportunities where member donations can create the greatest impact.
Rather than allocating funds on a fixed monthly schedule, resources are directed toward service projects and nonprofit needs as opportunities arise throughout the year.
We remain committed to transparency and will regularly communicate how donations are being used.
-
Yes—in fact, members can expect even more opportunities.
Our new model allows us to organize:
Monthly volunteer opportunities.
Annual signature events.
Smaller service projects throughout the year.
Projects that align with the passions and expertise of our Board and volunteers.
Whether you have an hour or a full day to give, we hope you'll find meaningful ways to get involved.
-
As part of this transition, all existing recurring donations will be canceled.
If you'd like to continue supporting Albuquerque Involved under our new service-first model, you'll simply need to enroll again through our new donation page.

Because we're changing how member donations are allocated, we want every supporter to have the opportunity to make an informed decision about participating in our new model.
Resubscribing ensures that everyone supporting Albuquerque Involved understands how their contributions will be used moving forward.
-
Absolutely.
We welcome ideas from our members and are always looking for new nonprofit partnerships and meaningful opportunities to serve our community.
-
We'll continue sharing updates throughout the year featuring volunteer events, nonprofit partnerships, community impact, photos, and stories so members can see exactly how their generosity is making a difference.

Nonprofits Supporting Nonprofits.
We believe the greatest impact happens when generous people come together to serve their community. This new chapter allows Albuquerque Involved to strengthen nonprofit organizations through volunteerism, collaboration, and thoughtful stewardship of member contributions.
